Here is a bit about me….

I Love Adventures in Nature

I originally got interested in the outdoors back in high school when I would go on backpacking trips in the Sierra Nevada with friends, family, and the boy scouts. I have been adventuring in nature for over 12 years now, and intend to do it for the rest of my life. I particularly love whitewater packrafting, thru-hiking, mountain biking, canyoneering, snowboarding, skiing, and surfing. If it’s an adventure, I am all about it.

I have done over 50 multi-day backpacking trips, camping in every state west of the Rockies, I have floated and navigated hundreds of miles of whitewater on various wilderness rivers throughout the Western US, I have completed long distance thru-hikes in the U.S. and Europe, I have bike toured 500+ miles down the west coast, and I have rafted the entire Grand Canyon.

All of these outdoor experiences are really just excuses for me to spend more time in nature. Nature is our playground, and our home. Learning about new ways to interact with it keeps our relationship with it dynamic and exciting.

Integrating fun, joyful experiences into our life is so important. Playfulness is one of my strengths, and prioritizing joy is something that comes easy to me. I believe most people experience too much seriousness, and too much unnecessary stress. Of course success, achievement, and financial freedom are important, but allowing them to consume us and remove us from our natural childlike selves is not worth it. Balance is key. I want each of us to discover how we can balance play, recreation, success and achievement, not being fully consumed or distracted by any one.

I Love Handstands

Learning to handstand, and eventually mastering them has been a major journey of my life. For years, it has paralleled my journey into coaching, professional development, and leadership.

Handstands did not come naturally to me. I was not a gymnast growing up and chronic wrist pain plagued me when I was younger. It took me six months to learn to hold a handstand without assistance from a wall! This journey is so fulfilling specifically because it did not come naturally to me…

Handstands have taught me unshakeable discipline, strong determination, and timeless focus.

It is often our successes requiring the most effort that become most rewarding.
